We Three - KOKO, Camden
At the KOKO in Camden, was the perfect setting for a night of emotionally charged music brought to life by the immensely talented sibling trio, We Three. As the audience gathered in anticipation, it was evident that we were in for a memorable evening of music, and the band did not disappoint.
I do love it when an artist has a full set lineup so that fans aren’t waiting, listening to Spotify for 3hs before the main act comes on. There was some amazing support with Alfie Sheard, yes, that one with his cover of “Fast Cars” and apprentice on the Ellen show a few years ago! Along with the truly inspiring and hard-working Morgan St. Jean - I did also really like that she had a live guitar playing with her. I know it can be hard for support acts who are solo like Morgan St. Jean but including the additional guitar element to her performance added another level to her music and the interaction between her and the guitarist was a great stage presence.
The evening was a rollercoaster of emotions, as We Three's lyrics are known for being deeply personal and heartfelt. The trio's emotional connection to their music was palpable, making the audience feel as though they were being welcomed into the band's personal journey. They engaged with the audience, sharing personal stories and insights into their music, which created an intimate bond between the performers and the crowd.
This makes it sound like it was a heavy evening, which it did have elements of that whereby they talk about issues from child abuse to lost loved ones and suicide. It felt like, from the second they stepped on stage, they were creating a safe space for their audience to have fun. They are a very lively, fun to watch and immersive band and it was a great evening of live music.
We Three delivered an unforgettable live performance that showcased their immense talent, heartfelt lyrics, and ability to connect with their audience on a deep emotional level. If you ever have the chance to see We Three live, do not miss it. Their music and stage presence are a true testament to the magic of live music.
